Hide My Text is designed as a local-first privacy app. The app helps users encrypt text on their device before sending it through the platform they prefer.

Information We Collect

Hide My Text does not require an account, email address, phone number, or login. We do not operate an app server that stores your messages, encryption keys, contacts, vault, recovery phrase, or hidden text.

Information Stored on Your Device

The app may store local vault data, cryptographic keys, contact records, trust status, encrypted backups, app settings, and security preferences on your device. This information is used to provide the app's encryption, restore, contact, and reveal features.

Messages and Hidden Text

Messages are encrypted locally. If you send hidden text through another app, that third-party app or service may process the hidden text according to its own terms and privacy policy.

Backups and Recovery

If you create a recovery phrase or encrypted backup, you are responsible for storing it safely. Hide My Text cannot recover lost recovery phrases or manually stored backup material.

Third-Party Services

Hide My Text may be distributed through Apple services such as the App Store or TestFlight. If subscriptions are offered, Apple processes purchases and subscription management through the App Store. Apple may process information according to Apple's own policies. Hide My Text does not receive your vault contents, contacts, hidden text, recovery phrase, private keys, or backups.

Children

Hide My Text is not intended to collect personal information from children.
