Overview
Hide My Text is designed as a local-first privacy app. It protects supported content on the device before the user sends the resulting protected output through a separate platform of their choice.
Information Hide My Text requires
Hide My Text does not require a Hide My Text account, email address, phone number, or server login. We do not operate a Hide My Text messaging server that stores users' messages, working encryption keys, contacts, vaults, recovery phrases, or protected content.
Information stored locally
The app may store vault data, cryptographic keys, contact records, trust status, group or broadcast records, settings, and security preferences on the user's device. A user may also create and manually store an encrypted backup outside the app.
Protected content and external platforms
Content is protected locally by Hide My Text. When a user sends the protected output through another app or service, that external provider processes the delivery under its own terms and privacy policy. Hide My Text provides the local protection layer before that handoff.
Backups and recovery
Recovery remains user-controlled. The recovery phrase and manually stored encrypted backup are the user's recovery sources and should be kept securely in separate locations.
Apple services
Hide My Text is distributed through Apple's App Store services. Apple may process download, purchase, diagnostic, or account information under Apple's own policies. App Store distribution remains separate from the user's local vault contents, private keys, recovery phrase, protected content, and manually stored backup.
Children
Hide My Text is not designed to collect personal information from children.
