Pairing checklist
- Use the invite within its 15-minute validity period.
- Complete both sides of the invite and response flow.
- Compare the safety phrase through a separate trusted method.
- Check that the contact is marked Trusted before protecting content for them.
Before deleting the app or changing iPhone
Keep the 12-word recovery phrase offline and create a current encrypted backup. They serve different purposes and may both be needed to restore the intended local state. Write the phrase down instead of using the standard iOS Copy action.
